Ep. 698 - Sydnie Wells, Tim Wells, Dive Bomb Industries & More at DUX2025

Matt Harrison:

Hey, everyone, and welcome to the Ducks Unlimited podcast. I'm your host, Matt Harrison. And on this episode today, we are at DUX with some of our really good friends, Tim Wells, Sydney Wells with Barstool Outdoors, Nathan Hogg from Dive Bomb Industries, and one of our very own at Ducks Unlimited, mister Jimbo Robinson. We discuss all things waterfowl. We talk about some funny hunting stories, what we have coming up for the waterfowl season, and we just have a good time of sitting around and chatting about what we all love, and that's wetlands conservation.

Matt Harrison:

So stay tuned for this episode of the Ducks Unlimited podcast.

Matt Harrison:

Hey, everybody. We are back live, and we have some very special guests joining us in the Duck Den. To my left is the one and only Tim Wells, also known as the Slockmaster.

Tim Wells:

I thought we were gonna go with Slock Daddy.

Matt Harrison:

Okay. I'm gonna let Nathan introduce you as that. That's Nathan's deal. To my right is Jimbo's joining us again. Then over here, we have miss Sydney Wells, then also mister Nathan with Dive Bomb.

Matt Harrison:

This is gonna be an open chat, and we're gonna have a good time. I'm super excited. The last time we have all been together, us three, was at our former president, mister Chuck Smith, chasing some ducks in the Arkansas timber, which was a blast, which is where me

Matt Harrison:

Mister Tim met. But we have a lot of cool things going on, the dive bomb side of things, Jimbo, heading up that relationship. Tim, I know you have a lot going on. Where are you heading Monday? You told me before we hopped on this that you were heading somewhere Monday, and tell our listeners where that is.

Tim Wells:

Africa. We're going duck hunting in Africa.

Matt Harrison:

Duck hunting in Africa.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. But if I don't see any ducks, I'm gonna just hunt plains game, whatever happens, you know.

Nathan Hogg:

Are you gonna shoot those ducks in Africa with a

Tim Wells:

There is a duck over there though, a goose, the emperor goose, you know. They live there's a lot of them in South Africa. Anywhere there's water, there's usually a few of them and that's legal. So if I can get one of them with my bow, he's going in the den.

Matt Harrison:

So are you going straight bow?

Tim Wells:

Oh, well, no. Probably mostly spear and

Matt Harrison:

blow. Okay.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. Gonna It's be Wow. He's gonna The be place I'm going in I'm going in the Upper Cape where most of the animals there, there's a lot of little stuff, you know, like the dyker and steinbuck, and then there's a lot of little predators. They've got this one ranch close by that's overrun with springbuck, and they're about that big. And so I called them long time ago, I said, hey, that's just what I want for my blow gun.

Tim Wells:

I said, would you dig me a hole in the ground right next to where they drink? And and he said, okay. How far away? And I said, well, like five yards. He's like, what?

Tim Wells:

Wait. What? And I was like, no. And so they did it.

Matt Harrison:

And Did they really?

Tim Wells:

Yeah. So I'll be underground sniping these babies when they're

Matt Harrison:

So how are you? Are you gonna have, like, a little mirror up so you can see, or you're have your like, how are you gonna see what It's a Periscope system.

Tim Wells:

Normally, you'd

Jimbo Robinson:

Like, one of

Matt Harrison:

those things have a ship. Yeah. A submarine.

Sydney Wells:

He's gonna

Matt Harrison:

be searching for a Periscope. Block.

Tim Wells:

Good idea.

Matt Harrison:

Oh, this is great. This is great.

Tim Wells:

But no. Normally, you just lay there and wait, you know, you're just at the mercy of what comes in because if it comes in left or right, your peripheral vision picks it up and you just sit there for hours and wait, you know? Wow. And then when they come in, then you stick them.

Matt Harrison:

That's crazy.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

Sydney, what do you have going on? I know you have a big day coming up not too too far away, is it? In May. May, which is still coming up. That'll be You just

Sydney Wells:

got married.

Matt Harrison:

I did. I did. I know you have one coming up, but what do you have going on in your world right now? I know you've been super busy and traveling all over.

Sydney Wells:

We've been traveling a lot. A lot of fishing. I'm ecstatic because it's August now, kicking off hunting season. Some part of the world, the hunting seasons have started. Africa.

Sydney Wells:

But Florida, deer season's here. August out west, people are gonna

Matt Harrison:

start hunting

Sydney Wells:

pronghorn. I'm heading to Alaska for the first time with my friends from Browning. I'm very excited

Matt Harrison:

about that. What are you gonna be chasing?

Sydney Wells:

Ptarmigan, and then we're gonna do some fishing. I know it's gonna be the end of the salmon run, hopefully, can fly fish and get some fish.

Matt Harrison:

That's awesome. Wow. And now, Nathan over here with Dive Bomb, who also has a lot to do with Sydney Whales. I know that y'all have a great partnership going as well as DU. So y'all talk a little bit about that, kinda y'alls how y'all got involved with each other because it's a newer relationship.

Matt Harrison:

It is. Right? So It is. How did that kinda come about and kinda Yes. Tell us a little

Jimbo Robinson:

bit about that.

Tim Wells:

Ducks Unlimited.

Matt Harrison:

Ducks Unlimited and Sydney. Kinda No doubt. I mean, it all the center of it, honestly, is all Ducks Unlimited. Yep. In all reality, I was a a DOD, director development for Ducks Unlimited in Missouri.

Matt Harrison:

That's how I met Cody Stokes, the founder and owner of Die Bomb, and he gave me a great opportunity to come over and work on that side of the house for him, so so it's been really fun. And then obviously just working with all my friends at Ducks Unlimited kind of admit made total sense. I was I was talking to some guys here today, and I was like, man, without without the work that Ducks Unlimited does, this this industry, this stuff wouldn't exist at all. So it's a it's a no brainer of a partnership, and then obviously get to work with Jimbo, so.

Jimbo Robinson:

Nathan lied to me the first time we ever met. He was I was talking to him about

Tim Wells:

I mentioned that.

Jimbo Robinson:

I knew his connection with Dive Bomb, and we met on the duck hunt, mister Gary Savram, and and we're riding out. We're about an hour and a half ride. I'm like, man, I'm really trying to find a a brand or a company to help us with our third term, our big university that you were the keynote speaker at a week and a

Matt Harrison:

half ago, ten days ago, and he's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sydney Wells:

I'll go

Jimbo Robinson:

up there and I'll talk to the guys at I'm gonna be up there, and and and the brands fit, and then we kind of hit it off that day talking about how those brands were gonna go together. And then like three weeks later, a month later, I can't remember, texted me and goes, hey, man, I'm going to work for Dive Dive Bomb.

Matt Harrison:

And I was like, dude, you had to have known that

Jimbo Robinson:

when we were together.

Matt Harrison:

You just set me up to try to get you to go and sell it. This is the easiest sell I'll ever make here.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. So that's literally, we stayed in touch and they jumped on our university program and it exploded last year. Wow.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. That was kind of the kind of the relationship kickoff, honestly. Absolutely.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. And they all came to our third term, 300 university leaders from across the country, had a lot to do with that show, and then we took it to another level this year and designed a LED sign. It's dive o'clock somewhere. We knew it was gonna be a hit, but we did not I don't think any of us anticipated how excited the kids were gonna the university students were gonna get, And it just it it went crazy. And so that partnership has been great, carried over into DUX this weekend.

Jimbo Robinson:

One of our platinum sponsors, and I mean, just the guys at dive bomb have been been tremendous to DU and and they're a phone call away. They sponsor our staff meeting this weekend, you know, part of our our gifts to the RDs this year. So it's just there's a lot that they've done and they filled a niche that we needed. And it's two components, two parts of Ducks Unlimited that just went together so well in our university program that's growing, you know, raising $4,000,000 I mean, everybody used to say they were the future generation and and we call it the generation of now. It was something that actually Cody Stokes, the owner said last year,

Matt Harrison:

he was like, man,

Jimbo Robinson:

these kids are today's leaders.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. Yeah. We're like, yep. You're right. Yeah.

Jimbo Robinson:

So For sure. Yeah. It's been awesome.

Matt Harrison:

Yep. So y'all got any duck hunting plans this year? Any cool trips coming up? I know we've gotta host our annual one, and we're going on four years in a row of hosting the Barstool Ducks Unlimited Duck Hunt. We've gotta talk about that today at some point, but do y'all have any cool plans to chase some ducks outside of Africa?

Tim Wells:

Well, Sydney, nice talking about going to Alberta on the opener in September and shooting them with our bows this time, you know. And we're gonna go back to dive bomb and get on them mallards because Sydney cut some video of, like, they were splashing poop in their face. They were so close.

Sydney Wells:

We're going back with our bows, so like that's a must. In Missouri, they're in our backyard, they're two hours away, so

Matt Harrison:

it's great.

Sydney Wells:

Last year was a phenomenal season for us, lights out with Mallard.

Tim Wells:

Sydney and I have a club in Illinois, and we've got 30 acres of flooded corn, and if it turns cold, it's game on because we're right up against a 6,000 acre lake and or no, 2,000 acre lake, but it holds a bunch of ducks when it's So Yeah. That's exciting.

Sydney Wells:

So we'll hunt at home. We're gonna definitely hunt with the dive bomb guys. We're gonna do a couple more out of offices like we've done

Jimbo Robinson:

that. Yeah.

Sydney Wells:

We did that last year. We brought we brought two amateurs. Okay. One fell in with his waiters.

Matt Harrison:

Oh, that was the best time.

Sydney Wells:

Shot his first duck then fell in. So at least he shot his first duck, but

Tim Wells:

first day, they're not allowed to have shells in the gun.

Sydney Wells:

So we're gonna be doing a lot of, you know I'm gonna go with Matt Judy into Washington

Jimbo Robinson:

Oh, that

Matt Harrison:

was fun. Wigeon. Wigeon. Wigeon Whisper.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. We

Tim Wells:

were talking about that teal hunt again. That looked like it.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. We went to where'd we go? Utah last

Matt Harrison:

Utah.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

Great Salt Lake. That was probably the coolest experience. Like, going in on airboats, the mountains, the scenery, like, our whole layout of what we were hunting in. We were in coffin blind

Sydney Wells:

Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

And we got out there, you know, none of us had never done that, and then they start sticking these silhouettes up, and they just tuck you in behind them, and we're like, like, what are we doing? And you're in this much of water, and it wasn't five minutes after we got laid down. There was groups

Sydney Wells:

It was incredible.

Matt Harrison:

To that that whole trip. Were those

Tim Wells:

green wings or

Matt Harrison:

Green wing. Green winged teal. Yeah. That's all we shot that that those couple days.

Sydney Wells:

And it was really interesting to see the Great Salt Lake, and I mean, it is, you know, I went in a drought Yeah. And it was interesting to see what DU's doing for the

Matt Harrison:

Great 100% Salt for sure.

Sydney Wells:

I'm more from the Midwest, we don't see that kind of stuff, so it was really eye opening, and it made us really appreciate what we got to experience because I'm like, man, with all the work doing, we're we're trying to keep that around and hopefully our grandkids can see it one

Matt Harrison:

day. Yeah. Had Karina Aybert join us to talk about the initiatives around Great Salt Lake and the whole nine, and it's really cool to see the work that Dee's putting back in that area.

Jimbo Robinson:

Great Salt Lake has become a focus recently. Very much so. And and so that's a cool place to go and and a great story to tell. Yep. Right?

Jimbo Robinson:

So that's that's awesome that y'all went. I remember everybody was watching y'all's y'all's videos because you two are always

Matt Harrison:

It's always are always clowning.

Jimbo Robinson:

It was a

Tim Wells:

good good hump for Matt because they came in big flocks.

Matt Harrison:

Didn't They did.

Tim Wells:

You didn't have to pick one, you could just shoot.

Matt Harrison:

Do you remember do you remember just those wads? I mean, it was groups of a hundred hundred green wing teal from here That's the kind of that screen.

Tim Wells:

You could slock them arrow right through the middle

Sydney Wells:

of hood.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. And you remember not to throw Jack under the bus, but he struggled a couple of shots, and he was getting so mad.

Sydney Wells:

He was

Matt Harrison:

getting so mad. So That that's a That's a theme for for Jack. For Jack. That's a theme. We always pick

Sydney Wells:

on Jack.

Matt Harrison:

He got locked in, though.

Sydney Wells:

Real real quick, though, too. We posted a picture of that hunt, and people were in the comments, Photoshop. Photoshop.

Matt Harrison:

I know. Yeah.

Tim Wells:

What? Of Jack with a deer a bucky a deer. No.

Sydney Wells:

Nine white ducks, dude.

Matt Harrison:

Don't do that.

Sydney Wells:

Jack literally is up on these birds.

Tim Wells:

Are you talking about Jack with your cameraman?

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. Jack.

Matt Harrison:

That's what

Tim Wells:

I'm saying. If he's holding a duck in the picture, they

Matt Harrison:

might have said he'd done Oh, She means there's a photo of Sydney, though, like, coming up out of her coffin blind, and there's a group of how many ducks?

Sydney Wells:

Like, a 100. It's insane.

Matt Harrison:

And it like, if you just looked at it, you would say, oh, 100% Photoshopped. I like because you've got, like, blue sky. It was like Perfect scenery. What? Like, would have

Sydney Wells:

shot one with your bow.

Matt Harrison:

Oh, 100%. 100%. So if

Sydney Wells:

you guys haven't seen that, make sure you go on Barcelo Outdoors, watch that hunt. It's incredible. You learn a lot too. Doctor was there too, and he is he calls him doctor doc or doctor doc.

Matt Harrison:

Doctor doc.

Jimbo Robinson:

Is this who he is?

Matt Harrison:

Doc. That's Dennis Lewis.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yep. Yep. He's here this weekend.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. Hey. So did the amateur fall in? Did that happen at at Kings Bend? The amateur fall in?

Matt Harrison:

She was talking about somebody fall Oh,

Sydney Wells:

yeah. Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. We had Large and Spider out there who they run the Rubbins Racing, so all the NASCAR side of things. These two guys are just salty I mean,

Sydney Wells:

+1 63, +1 54. Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

I was gonna say 63 and 53, but, yeah, same thing. And and and Spider shot a beautiful Gadwald Drake first duck, and he was he was holding up for the camera and talking a little bit about it, and he he stepped backwards and tripped over a cornstalk. I mean, his whole head went underwater. I mean, he was under What a cold too. Oh, it was we were it was 10 degrees, 15 degrees.

Matt Harrison:

It was a it was not the time to fall. We

Jimbo Robinson:

went up there last year in early November, and there wasn't a lot of water, but I thought there was enough. And so Nathan and Schuss and I made a bet with Cody Stokes and Orr that they could run this mud motor out to the blind. In Arkansas, can run them anywhere. Louisiana, like, that's the mud I'm thinking, I am guaranteeing this bet. And it was a very substantial bet that Cody Stokes made with us, And I am like dollar signs in my eyes.

Jimbo Robinson:

So we tapped our expert public land duck hunter over there, extravaganza, Nathan to drive this boat. Well, I'm in

Matt Harrison:

the blind. I stay back with

Jimbo Robinson:

the orb because we couldn't all go to land together. And I hear the boat fire up, and it's going. And, man, you know, you get that feeling when you hear something and you know they're stuck.

Matt Harrison:

It was like, running off the rev limiter. Oh, it was. And we got we got just outside of the boat ditch, and as soon as we got out the boat ditch, it was an inch and a half of water. Oh. And it it was less about the boat being stuck, but that mud that it's a hard bottom.

Matt Harrison:

It's like concrete.

Jimbo Robinson:

And that's what got us.

Matt Harrison:

Yes. There was nothing for that pop pop.

Tim Wells:

Suction cup on.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. Yeah.

Jimbo Robinson:

And and Stokes knew that. And Yeah. And, man, he got us with that bet. We lost

Matt Harrison:

No wonder he made that bet.

Jimbo Robinson:

I know. He knew all

Matt Harrison:

of us, but

Jimbo Robinson:

it was so funny. And just listen to them talk about people falling in there. That place if that place could talk There there's a lot

Matt Harrison:

of good stories there.

Jimbo Robinson:

Always good stories.

Matt Harrison:

There's a lot of good stories. Yeah. Yeah. That was

Jimbo Robinson:

a fun time. We had a great great hunt. Yeah. Shot a lot of birds.

Tim Wells:

The hunt I wanna do, I wanna go kill a a black mallard up in New York? On the coast, you know, if they're somewhere. I've seen a booth cross the way here that they had the black mallard decoys, and I'm like, oh, I bet they guide for them, and they do. And I guess they got gangs of them up there. It's a sure thing.

Tim Wells:

And then you can run to the coast and shoot idlers.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

I've got one one little bone to pick about you guys with your bows and arrows and shooting ducks I hear. Is did I have to be the arrow boy? Were you I mean I mean, after you shoot 60 flu flu arrows Oh, yeah. Like, somebody's somebody's gotta go pick those out.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. The corn.

Matt Harrison:

It's hard

Jimbo Robinson:

enough to find the corn.

Matt Harrison:

In the corn. Hey.

Tim Wells:

Don't complain. If you wanna complain, go to Argentina's with us when we're doing a dove hunt. That's when you gotta get deep.

Matt Harrison:

The only thing the only thing that saved me was finally we were just like, we gotta wait till it gets dark and looking for these lighted knocks that was going Were they sticking in the ground?

Sydney Wells:

This is why I love Stokes though because Stokes is like, if I'm hunting, yeah, Nathan's calling and he's picking up the arrows, they kept saying, stop calling. Call more. I was like, this is fun.

Matt Harrison:

Was just I was just doing what I was told at that point. I I couldn't do anything right, but but they they were you guys hit a

Jimbo Robinson:

few. Really? Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

A few.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. Sydney made a big mistake. She took the wrong bow. She wasn't shooting enough speed, and so she was hitting the mallards, and my my broadheads are big wide cut, know, so they either knock you out of the sky or they bounce off, know, and she didn't have so when we come back we're gonna be bringing some velocity. Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

Bring some velocity, sharpen those things up. I wanna see out there honing those blades a little bit. Yeah.

Tim Wells:

Oh, yeah.

Matt Harrison:

That's the

Sydney Wells:

hunt I'm most excited for. I honestly, after going there last year, oh my gosh.

Tim Wells:

You might have cut it right though because the wind was good and a new flight was coming in, but I guess they're always there,

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. It's so we have the the two zero three that we do a lot of our social media around and all that kind of stuff, and that's a great farm, and and that's where we do most of our hunting. And then we have Kings Bend proper is what we call it, and we really don't hunt that very often. We pretty much just let it sit, and then we'll use it for for media stuff. So when Sydney came through, was the first time it was hunted that year, and and it just so happened to be a a nice freeze up, and it was holding a good amount of birds.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. I was pretty upset we made it in and out of office because Nathan and I were were eating

Matt Harrison:

I was dying. I was dying. I was like, we've gotta shoot these birds. They were, like, 10 feet from us, miss.

Sydney Wells:

I'm like, oh gosh.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. Yeah.

Matt Harrison:

That's about, like, Feinberg and them.

Sydney Wells:

Oh, yeah.

Matt Harrison:

I'll never forget one moment.

Sydney Wells:

Cartoon where the guy when he's gone rabbit hunting? Is that Elmer Fudd? Yeah. That's how our coworkers were shooting their guns.

Jimbo Robinson:

Forget. We were we were

Matt Harrison:

at Cason Schwartz, Bill Byers, and it was a cold, cold morning, and it was so cold, and it was so funny. Right at light, there were birds everywhere. And Feitelberg was over there, or either it was Donnie or Donnie. Donnie. I think it was Donnie.

Matt Harrison:

He was over there, and he was like, I can't load my gun. My hands are and he's like, over here trying to put it in his shells. Like, let

Sydney Wells:

me look at you. This is the first time they've ever hunted too. So, like, that's the best part of the out of office, though. They've never duck hunted. They don't even know what duck hunting really entails, and now they're going back and telling all their friends how much

Matt Harrison:

they love duck hunting.

Jimbo Robinson:

That was when y'all did, like, the question and answer in their lobby.

Tim Wells:

You know,

Jimbo Robinson:

asking what kind birds it was? With the redhead and

Matt Harrison:

all that stuff.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. Kason's a great friend of ours and and he'll be on tomorrow. Him and Brent Birch are coming down. I got to go youth hunting with my son and Mac and Byers, his boys and Ford, after y'all left, I got to hear about some of y'all stories.

Matt Harrison:

Oh, so That was hilarious.

Sydney Wells:

We're going on a dove hunt with dive bomb crew in Texas, and that's what I'm kinda nervous about because they're not gonna crap.

Matt Harrison:

It's gonna be it's gonna be really fun. The the out of office idea was that was it did

Sydney Wells:

you come up with that, Sydney? Yeah. Me and my old producer, Sean.

Matt Harrison:

It's golden. It it is. It is smart, and it's so much fun to, like, just show new people what we do and get it out there, and it's just so relatable. That's what I love about the whole thing is you got people coming in, and this is a testament to Sydney too and what she does, but bringing in people and not just showing them the side of hunting, but also explaining and getting them involved with somebody like Ducks Unlimited to say, hey, we love to hunt, but here's why we love to hunt. We get to give back.

Matt Harrison:

Yep. We're conservation focused. We're one foot in front of the other and putting back into what we love to do, and so not only are they getting their first experience of getting to chase ducks in Arkansas or somewhere like that, but also learning why we love it so much. And so that's one of my favorite things about the out of office is you got people that have no clue Well totally fair. About hunting.

Sydney Wells:

A big shout out to y'all though because this is why I do a lot of the out of offices with Dive Bomb or Ducks Unlimited is because we wanna set them up for success.

Matt Harrison:

For sure.

Sydney Wells:

So if the next time they go, they're like, oh, wait. This doesn't suck though because I've been on a hunt where it was awesome.

Matt Harrison:

For sure. Because, if they just take them to the farm, they might not be seeing any of that.

Tim Wells:

Slockmaster sucks. But Dave's been saying that for three years, and he keeps coming back.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. Oh, I mean, we took two of our our coworkers deer hunting, and now one winter break for work, White Sox Dave has been going and hanging

Matt Harrison:

out with mom and dad at the farm that he's been trying to shoot a

Tim Wells:

But in my defense, we even have video of him running down a field trying to chase a coyote with his bow, you know. So I mean, the technique might be part of the problem.

Matt Harrison:

Well, the out

Jimbo Robinson:

of office is big. It's it's it's it's a big it's a big thing for not getting those those people out there, but it's where the core of relationships are made. And that's that's a lot what this weekend's about too, right? I mean, having people come in, sit down, becomes reunions for outdoorsmen all the time. And they get to see what we do and you know, it's it's so much fun, and that's where these stories are made.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. But that's where a lot of collaboration happens too.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. Cindy's group is so don't

Jimbo Robinson:

go all the time, get those opportunities to collaborate, and you you from their perspective. Our perspective is probably similar, but their perspective is a lot different. Yeah. And that's where the fun is made. They pick up on the small things.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. And that's what's so cool about what we do and what we get to do.

Tim Wells:

The cool thing about Barstool with Sydney though is all her other friends that work there, when they bring when she brings them into the audience, their audience is so foreign to

Jimbo Robinson:

hunting Yep. And fishing

Tim Wells:

Yep. And it's a good, you know, stigma that a lot of them just don't like us because we're killers, know. But then when they realize, no, these people are about conservation and about making more animals and releasing those fish and they're laughing and they're having fun. Yeah. They're with so and so, you know?

Matt Harrison:

I think, I don't remember if it was large or spider, but they both were like, wait, you put in all this money just for the ducks? And we're like, well, that's that's the point. We're like, that's what we do.

Jimbo Robinson:

Well, I mean, so we had the mayor here yesterday walking him around and giving him a tour, and when he walked in, you know, it was that moment of like, we we don't to us, we don't look at it as like, oh my gosh. To other people, they're

Matt Harrison:

probably like, y'all are crazy.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. 100%. Y'all do they walk in and like, yeah, that jacket's $600 and and yeah, those waiters are $800 and Yeah. Yeah. You kill a duck?

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. You do all this to go chase anything, duck, deer, mean, whatever. And so, yeah, you're right. It's so far it's so foreign to them, but how many people you think you've introduced to the outdoors?

Sydney Wells:

Oh. Well, if you bring the audience in

Matt Harrison:

Yeah.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. I would

Tim Wells:

say aliens. You can't count her.

Matt Harrison:

You can't count

Jimbo Robinson:

You can't. Yeah. What's really cool is is y'all can't see it. I can't. This view is kinda cool actually, by the way.

Jimbo Robinson:

But we've had two young girls walk by, and they've stood there right behind that thing in just It's been really neat to see when it's just Matt and I, people just pass by, to have somebody they can look up to has been really cool to watch Yeah. Their eyes glow seeing you sitting here and I think that's the who Matt an

Tim Wells:

even eye.

Matt Harrison:

I don't

Jimbo Robinson:

if that was a problem.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. I know.

Jimbo Robinson:

She saw these two over here. But it's it's it's really cool. So

Sydney Wells:

I that's I love it. It's so much fun. It is fun working at Barstool too because it is a completely different audience, brings in new perspective, and we just did a bass fishing tournament, and it was hilarious.

Matt Harrison:

Bad Barbie. That was such a

Sydney Wells:

great video. Some of those guys have never fished before, some have, but, like, people wouldn't know, and the audience is like, wait. What's going on? What's a spawn? Wait.

Sydney Wells:

Is this bad? What's happening?

Matt Harrison:

The amount of people that didn't that had never seen a flogger before, you know, like the the spot the smallie spotters that, you know, you can see underneath, like, that's a tournament thing that guys have been using for gosh knows how long. It's like, y'all are y'all are using these big tube things to see down underwater? Like, yeah, that's part of it.

Sydney Wells:

Well, like, now growing up, my dad's like he would rather shoot he would rather watch me shoot a white tail than anybody, you know, than himself, and now I'm starting to get that perspective with not white tail, but I'm starting to get that that perspective with bringing my coworkers. That was so much more fun for me.

Tim Wells:

Yeah. That was a funny show. If you haven't seen it, folks, gotta watch it because she forced her her folks from the office to use Barbie reels, know. You got extra points if you caught a smallie on a Barbie doll reel or whatever.

Sydney Wells:

Yeah. Was one of the best fishing too on Lake Michigan. People were like, you can fish outside of Chicago?

Matt Harrison:

Oh, yeah.

Tim Wells:

There are skyscrapers right behind you while you're catching That's three pound pretty cool.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. That's awesome. It is

Jimbo Robinson:

watching watching that those types of things and watching the excitement, and, you know, I'm lucky enough, he gets to watch you do it, I get to watch my son do it, and and I I've never thought that my mind would ever get there of, like, I love to shoot and I love to to share in that, but then you do. You become that that you would rather your son shoot, as Matt alluded to earlier, on a on a previous one, I carry the bag of snacks now. I forgot my gun opening day or some point last year, and it was like, it didn't matter to me. Like, I didn't care that much watching Tripp get to do it, and now watching my daughter too, six years old. She killed her first duck this year.

Jimbo Robinson:

Really exciting, and and and it took us a lot to get that that smiling Mallard, but that excitement is the same excitement you get with watching new people and the gleam in their eye, and it never gets old. Yeah. Never gets old. Totally agree.

Matt Harrison:

Yep. Totally agree. Well, thank all y'all so much for carving time out of your busy schedule. I know we have a lot going on. I know a lot of people wanna see you guys.

Matt Harrison:

Like Jimbo said, I've seen a couple walk by and said, what? Demo.

Jimbo Robinson:

Yeah. They are.

Matt Harrison:

I know.

Jimbo Robinson:

That's what's been going

Matt Harrison:

I know a lot of people are looking forward to meet y'all. Thank you so much, Nathan, Sydney, Jimbo. Michelle, thank you.

Jimbo Robinson:

Tell the audience. This live live on YouTube. So tell them how long y'all gonna be here, kinda what your schedule is, what your schedule is so that if people are thinking about coming and they wanna come and hang out with y'all, what is

Tim Wells:

the If you're in Alabama, you better hurry. We leave today at 04:00.

Matt Harrison:

Tim Wells:

Yep. One of our best friends. What's this knife here?

Jimbo Robinson:

I I I'm sitting above you holding a knife. I'm a little nervous. What we got here?

Matt Harrison:

Okay. I gotta show this

Sydney Wells:

off because my good friends, MKC Montana Knife Company, are here. I am so proud to work with them. I've been with them for four years. I just saw Brandon, so Brandon and Josh created MKC. They are the best knives.

Sydney Wells:

I love them. I carry them on me all the time, but they have the mini Speedgoat. He actually just handed it to me. He's like, here, walk around with this and keep it. I'm like, I will keep it.

Sydney Wells:

Somebody's gonna try to steal it from me.

Matt Harrison:

I already I already Well, she brought it over to me, and she was holding it up like this. I've been asking her for months. Can you get me a can you get me a

Sydney Wells:

knife? Yeah. It's super sharp, but much.

Matt Harrison:

Yeah. Exactly. You got her. Exactly.

Tim Wells:

Watch where you lay

Sydney Wells:

it down.

Matt Harrison:

Beautiful. Now. Well, I've been sitting above it for the last thirty five minutes. At it. Myself.

Matt Harrison:

Awesome. I like the size of it. Yeah. It's

Sydney Wells:

a bit

Matt Harrison:

a gunk.

Sydney Wells:

Inches, but Yeah. I carry one on every single trip. I have a fillet knife. It's a hook, a collab fillet knife that I carry everywhere. I always leave it, and somebody has to ship it to me.

Sydney Wells:

But, no, they these are truly the best knives I've ever used, and I love them. And this is a great knife, like, my fiance, has this on his pocket, on him on himself, on his body every day for work. Am I okay? No.

Tim Wells:

But Alright. You've already earned their $25. That was a nice one.

Matt Harrison:

Shameless plug.

Sydney Wells:

He's such a brat. I love MKC though, so check him out. But I'll probably be hanging out on the dive bomb booth, so

Tim Wells:

Yeah.

Sydney Wells:

With this guy over here.

Tim Wells:

She'll be there.

Matt Harrison:

She'll be

Sydney Wells:

there for

Tim Wells:

goldsteel.com. That's my 25. Okay.

Matt Harrison:

Oh, man. Well, thank y'all y'all so much Again, I hope y'all have a great rest of the show. Thank y'all for what y'all do for Ducks Unlimited and Wetlands Conservation. Yeah.

Jimbo Robinson:
